A trailer's black water holding tank located right under the trailer floor is hardly the same as a S&B toilet that flushes each time with plenty of water directly into a municipal sewer system or into a septic holding tank buried in the back yard that in turn drains out to a septic bed - different animal entirely. :R If using just water works for you that's great but many of us do prefer to use tank chems, not just for controlling odour concentrated only inches from the toilet waste valve but to aid in breaking down the contents of the tank. "tried them all" is silly as there are literally hundreds of different products available with more being introduced to the market all the time. In my case I've tried
"many" over the years from naturally acting bacterial products like Odorlos to formaldehyde chems to The Geo Method to Happy Camper to the Walex products I've been using over the last year. All help in one way or the other, the trick is to find one that suits you personally, in my case the most important factor being residual chemical smell which I personally find the most difficult to live with. Of all the products I've tried so far I've found the Walex products I mentioned earlier to work quite well at controlling odour and breaking down tank contents while not exhibitiing offensive residual chemical odour.
