OP - your doing OK. I usually take two trips to the dump station towing my portable tank to dump gray water. Somebody mentioned KISS - well there you have it. For three of us doing minimal conservation - navy showers, I'd say it's necessary every three days. As another poster stated, do not empty the black tank on the same schedule - and use lots of water on the flush. Also, be sure to wipe food off plates and pans to minimize food particles in the gray tank.
