Blue Ox Patriot BRK2010 issues

Question

I have a used (6 times) Blue Ox Patriot model BRK2010. Just having nearly no luck getting it set up and running in our 2000 CRV. The video I just watched says it should run in Mode Force for regular braking anf positonal if it;s a hybrid.

Ran through how to set it to mode force and cannot get there, it automatically goes to postion mode. It also states in some literature that the unit itself has to be charged 8 hours prior to use.If we do get it to work it's after 25 tries (fluke)if we're lucky.

Any thought or ideas would be appreciated.

I have the same model and it works as advertised. I don't charge it for 8 hours as the car battery will do it for me when plugged-in and operating. I need to change the sensitivity and have never changed the force mode since setting it years ago.

I suggest you call the good folks at Blue Ox as they can help you better than I.

I did contact them yesterday and got response for more info. My unit has version 12 software, so a few behind the current version. I got it off a family member who can longer drive and it did sit for a few years in their garage, but we got it working last year (with a bit of a fight)

It's been very frustrating as some times takes 20 tries to get it to work.

update, I spoke with a Blue Ox tech rep and after describing my issues, they were able figure out what I (yes ashamed) was doing wrong. I tried there suggestion twice and worked first time, both time.
