As far as ease when hooking/unhooking, I can't see how larger bars or dropping the hitch would make it easier. Seems to me it would create a more difficult situation because the bars are stiffer and the dropped hitch would result in a downward angle pulling the bars further away from the swivel latches.
I'm frustrated with my Blue ox and dread everytime I hook/unhook. I tried the long ratchet this go around and all I'm asking for is to eventually break something with the continuous hard snapping of swivel latches.
The threads I see where folks are having trouble seem to be with heavier trailers/tongue weight.?
My hitch is setup per factory instructions and I still have to put a lot of lift on the tongue jack.
Twisting my swivel latches by hand ain't gonna happen.
Not sure what or even if I have to address anything on my hitch, but for now I'm regretting not sticking with an Equalizer.
