Maybe pose the same question to them that you posted here and see what their suggested "fix" is....
73guna, the idea with stiffer bars is that they would need less flex to achieve the same torsion. OP stated that he can't raise the tongue high enough with the tongue jack to completely release the tension from the bars. This would indicate that the bars are tensioned to the max, and have a longer bending travel than the tongue jack has vertical travel. Stiffer bars will bend less and the tongue jack should have enough vertical travel to untension them completely.
TO Illustrate: Pick up a 1/4" wood dowel rod and try to bend it, then try to bend a 1/2" dowel rod of the same material. The same amount of force will bend the 1/4" dowel a lot more than the 1/2" rod (bending travel).
Walalby, I would ask BO if they agree with this when you call them.
