Blue Ox Sway Pro Setup question UPDATE

I would try moving your rotating latches slightly forward toward the ball. From the pictures it looks like they are sitting slightly behind the top of the chain mount on the bars. When they are latched they should be straight up and down. If they aren't it does change the pressure on the rotation. My dealer had mine off by an inch and it was much more difficult to load and unload the pressure from the bars. That could explain why you are having trouble getting them latched and released.
