Boondocking and unhooking

Not sure many state parks will let you drop your trailer in a day use area especially when they have day use customers competing for the same parking spots.

There are many state parks that are day use only and are free. I would go there for the day time to leave your trailer and do your sight seeing. For night then go to a WM, Casino,truck stop etc.

Welcome to the forum.
Part of RV'ing is planning and being able to afford to do so. Can't afford even $20 a day for a CG? Finding free places to boondock is not an easy task. Even harder when you want to drop the RV.

True boondocking is done waaayy off the grid. Those experienced RV'ers know 'how' and 'where' to do it. And most make a lifetime of doing it successfully.

IMHO local RV'ing and sightseeing as an RV'er is best done using CG's. :C

You might get more information on the "public lands, boondocking" forum. Go to the upper right of this page and click on the "Jump to Forum" drop down, and then scroll down to "public lands, boondocking forum click and then hit the "go" button.

Please do not try and drop your TT off at a Walmart or truck stop to go sightseeing. You will be helping to ruin it for those of use that use Walmart and truck stops for a quick overnight stop.

I seriously doubt Wally World would look kindly on someone dropping a TT in their parking lot for a day. I hope you don't. I would consider that abusing the kindness of WM to let us park over night in order to get a few hours sleep.

I also doubt truck stops would like it.
