I was one of those, who was questioning the amount of weight transfer. The Andersen hitch was not restoring 100% of weight taken off from front axle. However, according to the owners manual for my truck, there is no requirement for 100% restoration. It simply states a measurement of front and rear bumbers (both while hitched and unhitched). Using the Andersen hitch, my measurements are within truck manufacturers specs. This summer will be my third year, using the Andersen hitch.
Note to OP:
I too, needed a longer drop shank. My (F250) rear springs and blocks were replaced with F350 springs and blocks. This lifted the rear end, 2 inches.
