How loud should the brake magnets be when power is applied with the brake controller??

On both my trailers I hear a very faint AUDIO TONE SOUND when DC BRAKE VOLTAGE is applied telling you DC VOLTAGE is being applied. On other trailers I have not heard this audio tone??? Guess it depends who make them...
I have never really heard how loud the brake pad noise on the drums is being made.
