Brake Sys for 2009 Jeep Cherokee Limited

I finally bght my Jeep and haven't got it yet but drooling HA!

The RV install folk say the Blue Ox Auto Brake Sys will work with the ignition off but the brake sys wont be assisted like if the Jeep was running.

Just not sure that will be enough to supply enough braking power to the Jeep.

IOW the Jeep will be off and no power to the Jeep at all except thru the RV elec connector to the Jeeps tail lights. The tail lights being powered by the RV.

Anyone used the Blue Ox Auto Brake System on a dinghy?

Anyone towing a Jeep Cherokee?

Rick

  • Take a look at the ReadyBrake system. Cheaper than others and easy hook up.
  • I recommend an RVi2 unit. Compact and easy to install. Works with active or passive power brake systems.

  • I have towed 3 different jeeps, 2 older cherikees, and a liberty, all with power brakes and used a brake buddy on each of them. Just be sure to pump the brake pedal 3-4 times after engine is off and before you two it. Brakes won't drag and BB will work fine w/o power.
