Breakaway cable replacement

I have to replace a cut breakaway cable and need suggestions on best way to run it. The key is mounted inside the hitch and the wire has to run under the hitch to get to the truck.. I have several photos. Suggestions?

    Don't overthink it. Just route it so it doesn't get caught in WD bars or safety chains.

    4ft break away cable? Purpose of break away is to apply the trailers brake immediately upon separation. Your break away needs to be set for your trailer and hitch. It should be long enough to make full turns but no longer.
    Upon a traumatic amputation, it should pull loose and apply the brakes with in a couple of inches, not feet!

    Don’t overthink such a simple task. It needs to be hanging free and attached to where a sharp turn etc want pinch it. Running it through anything could cause it to malfunction. You may need to find another area to mount the actuator so it’s not against something.
