Bridge Falls onto I75

In Chattanooga the I75 southbound overpass wall fell onto the I75 underpass to I24 westbound. All I75 traffic is stopped until furtur notice at that point.
I dare say that I75 South will be closed for a bit until they decide what to do about the wall and decide if th roadway is safe. At least a day maybe a week.
There are several news post about it so you can decide how to avoid it.
  • There were a lot of RV's on the road there this weekend, glad (and surprised) nobody was killed....
  • Personally I prefer dried mud but I'm biased as we manufacture it. We do however put steel inside our dried mud.

They are saying this evening that the bridge shows signs of being struck recently by an oversized trailer.

So I nailed it with my earlier post (pun intended).

Since this mostly a joke.. My response to most politicians when they make promises is this: "I grew up on a dairy farm".. Of course this begs the question "What does that have to do with what the politician was talking about?"... To which I respond "I've shoveled that stuff by the ton".

Raises the question, not begs it. Begging the question is a logical fallacy akin to making a circular argument.

one more reason to build with steel not a dried mud product.

steel can be rebuilt, in place even, even made stronger if needed.

One of the most secure jobs in the country: Maintenance/repairs on the Golden Gate Bridge. (the structure is all steel) It goes on all day, 365 days a year and has for the last 75 years. Maintenance free? Hardly!

Hey Hey Hey lets cut road repair and build a useless wall.

OR................................................ We could build a barrier AND repair the roads. :B
  • Maybe going forward we should start building bridges using no cement, and titanium instead of steel.

Do it once and do it right! ;)
  • When they rebuild that section of Interstate starting this fall, as of now, they intend to construct another great wa3ll of China all along that section to the welcome center on I24 near I59 interchange to cut down on semi wrecks. Won't cut down on them. They will just hit the wall or take it out as they have in many places. Making them stay in the right lane like in Oklahoma would help a lot. imo
I hate being cloistered by close concrete walls you can't see over.
