Buying Auction/Salvage RV's

Has anyone done this? What are some good sites to go to? I know sometimes insurance will 'total' a vehicle for some weird reasons.

  • Some folks just take from this forum and never give back.
  • You buy AS IS...will always have a salvage title always...try and find an insurance company that will insure an RV with a salvage title
  • Lots of rvs were damaged by hurricane Katrina and Sandy. Watch out for flood damaged units written off by the insurance companies. Might have hidden mould problems.
  • I bought a 05 for guests/family to use at my seasonal site. I will have around 80 hrs in it when done. The salvage/rebuilt title will follow it forever. The purchase price was about half the value and I will have additional money for repairs/upgrades in it. You have to be very careful about hidden damage. I used the trailer rebuild for stress relief. I did not worry about resale since it was for others to use. I have seen some priced so high by the time you did repairs you could have bought a clean used camper for the same amount.
