Have you inspected the used Jayco?
If it is all in near perfect condition (and not had a warranty nightmare), it is possible all the quality issues and first times out problems would have been fixed under warranty already. You want to confirm this.
These are both at a dealer? Remember depreciation. You didn't share the asking price or the model, so no way to weigh or compare anything there.
Most people buy for amenities and condition. Name brand is often a factor, but down the line a bit.
Quality of build is sometimes tied to the brand, more often to the model (most have economy, mid-grade, premium lines), but not always.
We went quite a bit older and used. Some elbow grease, low $$ and she will be like new for close to $20k below new prices. Some of the work we did is not for everyone.
Big question: How comfortable are you doing your own work or have someone knowledgeable and reasonably priced/available to do it for you?
One thing is certain. Be sure of the inspection and condition and ask WHY it was turned back in after only a year. Not many people want a problem child ;)
Good luck!
