I've had both a Jayco and a Dutchmen. I owned the Jayco for 12 years and the Dutchmen for 3 years and counting. I would say the build quality of both is about the same. That being said, I think you can buy higher quality or lower quality in both lines.
OP - do your homework Check out the build quality in each in minute detail by crawling all over them. Pull out drawers and look behind them, open doors and stick your head in, examine every nook and cranny, push buttons, pull slides in and out, check frig, water pump, water heater, air conditioner, roof, screws, seams, tires, doors, windows, screens, etc. If you think they are of equal quality and condition, buy the new one. If you think the one that costs more is worth more, buy it.
