B&W hitch adjustment question

Just finished installing the B&W turnover and companion in my 2014 Ram 3500 4wd dually. I want to adjust the hitch height for my Jayco 351RLSA. Does any one have a similar set up. What bolt hole are you using? I have attached an image from the install manual. I have mine like the lower left. It's at a 16 1/4" height, same as the Reese 16k that I had in my 2002 Chevy 3500 Dually. I know the side rails on the Ram are higher. So what's your height?

  • Start in the middle then take one measurement after hooked up then adjust to get as level as possible. Enjoy.
  • I was hoping that some one with 2013 or 14 Ram drw and similar sized trailer would answer". My trailer is 120 miles away. I was hoping to get it as close as possible and avoid taking it apart again and again.
  • I think you are going about this all wrong. As you can see from the replies, what works for one rig may not work for another. Start somewhere in the mid-range and try it, if it doesn't work (trailer too high/too low or too far forward or back) move the hitch accordingly. It will take some time and maybe a few scraped knuckles, but in the end it will be worth it. I have a B & W Hitch and love it, but you must customize the setup for your rig.
  • On my 09 F350 DRW I have it set high as can be and as far forward as possible. I have 7 inches clearance.
  • I have mine set as you have yours. Low and forward. Works great and still have 9" on bed clearance. Love my B&W. Happy camping.
