Why is there a difference between using the liquid and powder versions of calgon water softener for cleaning grey tank sensors.I can’t seem to find the powder in any of the stores near me. Is there a good place to buy the powder?

Calgon Post, 20 Mule Team Borax is supposed to be the same as Calgon.You can get Calgon Powder on Amazon.

With the powder you need to dissolve it in water before pouring it into the tank(s). Just make sure it is dissolved. Both work fine, the liquid is just easier to deal with.

Liquid and powder, Samey-same. Likewise any water conditioning powder. The point is to help the detergent to work more efficiently and prevent the buildup of lime scale on the sensors.

Seems the powder is not readily available in parts of the country. I was lucky to find several large boxes for about 80% off a few years back when a store in Deadwood was going out of business. Still working with that stash.

I don't use the geo method to do anything with the sensors; gave up on them long ago and rarely check them anyway.

Difference between Powder and Liquid.. not worth mentioning.

Someone said "you have to dislove it in water first" if you use powder..No, just dump it in, and drive, it will dislove and mix in as you drive.

Makes no difference.. Powder is usually a bit less expensive, but not always.

Buy it online. Look for etailers where you get free shipping if buy XXX dollars worth of it.
