If/when I go visit California, I'll pay the fuel tax, sales tax, and any other consumer tax that hits me. When I leave, I don't pay anymore. Likewise when Californian's come visit my state (or any other state), they will reciprocate in kind.
I can't vote in California, and can't do anything about their taxes, so I really pay it no mind, and basically 'don't care'. Better to focus on those things I can try to do something about.
As far as federal taxes etc.. as WRVPO says, I can only vote for legislators in my district/state. And yes, as also WRVPO pointed out (maybe overlooked by FJ12ryder), we accept the fact the rule of the majority, but again, as he pointed out (and also overlooked, but restated), we don't have to like it.
