Well ... I'm not sure that our "spectacular" winter weather is not unusual. California is in the middle of the 3rd or 4th year of a very serious drought that's causing "great winter weather" so far this winter.
Folks may have been caught enough off-guard this winter by this drought weather and hence didn't set up their schedules for travel in California during this winter.
We are SUPPOSED to be getting rain and winds this time of the year - not summer conditions. We will pay this summer for this wonderful and unusual winter weather.
