Calling All Canadians in BC - Legal Address - Help!?

Hi All. I am new to RVing and selling my property. I live in BC, Canada, and have just found out that if I go full-time traveling/RVing I still need a physical legal address (not PO BOX) for a BC Driving Licence and anything Federal, taxes, etc. How do people get around/solve this issue? I, unfortunately, do not have family or close enough friends to use to send mail to. Do I perhaps need to buy a cheap plot of land, or are there other suggestions/options? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated :)

  • Right off...this is on the wrong Forum. You want to talk to CDN's, then post in the CDN Forum. eh.

  • Don't know if places in BC do this, but when our son was living in California, the UPS mail box store used "suite" addresses, not po box. So his address was 12345 Hispearian Ave, suite 123.
  • Canadian friends are snowbirds annually in the US . Lots of regulations on length of stay and those regs can especially effect medical coverage and even tax issues.

Be sure you keep asking Canadians and then double check what they with current requirements are for both US/Canada if coming south. Good luck on your new life adventure!
  • Buy a cheap lot in an RV park where you own the property. A deeded RV lot. Just rent it out if you are not using it. You can buy them in the Okanagan or the Shuswap for as low as 35000. We did it for years.
  • I want to retire to the Okanogan.
Maybe I should buy your house and then your mail could keep coming there. I'll just hold it for you!
    :B

Although I'm kidding right now, I really do want to retire there.
