We used to travel from California to Michigan every summer. 47 Kaiser four door...I remember my dad getting upset because he paid 14 cents/gal for fuel and several miles down the road it was only 11 cents/gal. S&H Green Stamps, Gold Bond stamps, (I still have some)..they used to give dishes and glasses with fill ups. I remember wheat fields in Kansas, (now mostly corn) and how the refineries lit up the night sky like small cities. We'd stop next to the road at a table to eat lunch, usually PB&J or Baloney sandwiches and see if we could get the trains to sound their horns....great memories.....Dennis
