The DW and I have 4 working days left here at Fernley(yeah). Started Oct 5 and while we probably won't do it again there is a certain amount of satisfaction to completing the contract. Yes you do work hard, have long hours, up to 50 hours mandatory per week with opportunity for a few more, 40 hours minimum. Amazon pays for the camp site but not propane and electric (at Fernley). As said before, you work at Amazon's beck and call and if you can deal with that and just go with the flow you will succeed. Lot's of nice people, that's one of the nice things. If you are prone to not being flexible you probably won't like it.
The weather here has been unseasonably cold and that, while not Amazon's fault, made the time here more difficult. RV's are not made for weather in the single digits. Just complicates things.
All in all, we are very glad to be going home next week. The bank account is the big beneficiary. In general when working here we spent less money than we would have otherwise so we saved in that regard also.
I've read comments from people who bad mouth the Amazon Camperforce program. It benefits a lot of people. Nobody is forced into this job and Amazon does inform well as to the working conditions. If you don't like it walk away.
Well that's my 2 cents. We're glad we did it and glad we're going home soon.
