Campfire Starters

I normally would not endorse a product, but this is one time I really would like to share a little "gem" with everyone. It's called EZ Lite fire starters. If you've never heard of or used this product, you'll be in for a delightful surprise the first time you try it.

Someone gave us a packet last summer and we tried it. It was so simple and it worked so well, we ended up buying an entire box through their web page. We're just about out and am getting ready to order a new box and I started thinking, I've been so happy with this product, I just wanted to share. The box comes in a carton of 60 for $38.00.

In years gone by, we've tried just about everything, from Kleenexes to leaves, to Charcoal lighter fluid. We've used the Duro type fire starter bricks for years and years, but this is by far much easier and faster. And you can actually get much bigger logs started without the use of small kindling. If you check out the web site, there's some videos. I have found EZ Lite will start much bigger logs than those sticks they're using. And I never stack in a Tee Pee style any more. Just lay them flat, put the starter on top, and the liquid will drip down, wrapping around each stick or log under it.

If you are a user of making your own fire starters our of dryer lint, or even corn flakes and your happy with that, by all means continue on. But if your a bit on the lazy side, like I am, and just want a fire started without all the fuss, this is for you!

We used them when camping, and we're now using them in the house over the winter months in our fireplace, as we suppliment heat with a wood burning fireplace. So, our supply is getting kind of low now, time to reorder.

Here's a link to their website: http://www.ezlite.com/

One you've tried this, you'll be hooked!

(Ladies ... this is a great Christmas gift idea for your husbands... you know, those Outdoor woodsmen guys. They'll have absolute success with this every time, they'll be ramping and raving to everyone how good they are at getting those fires started, snap! just like that!)
