Campfires, fer em or again em!!!

we enjoy campfires.....not smoke pits. We were at a campground last week, enjoyed a campfire most nights with friends. One evening there was a big bunch of smoke, thought some ones RV was on fire.

It was someone trying to build a fire with I don't know what. The smoke was so thick you couldn't see across the campground.

I wanted to go dump water on it. I just wish everyone had a clue how to build a fire.
