Only one thing really annoys me... those that have no idea how much the smell of weed can permeate throughout a campground. I've never had the unfortunate opportunity to camp beside someone who partakes, but I've been where I have been hundreds of feet from where someone was, and they were surprised that people around them were complaining about it. It's not like cigarette smoke that dissipates in the air within a few feet, this stuff can be smelled a long way away.
a call to 9-1-1 solves that problem right now.
Not in a bunch of states these days. Small amount of "weed", or smoking it, is not illegal in many areas or it is considered on the same level as a parking violation. - austinjennaExplorer
Peeves don't make very good pets. I had a peeve once, but it slipped its collar and ran away.
You should use the leash that fits around the whole body and not just a collar leash. I have had my pet peeves for as long as I can remember, I don't think they will ever leave me. I have had a few folks complain at the CG 'Hey get those pet peeves outta here' but thats about it. - D___MExplorerPeeves don't make very good pets. My pet peeve is now that I have time from work to go camping, there is not a campsite I want to go to within 5 hours drive that's not book for the next "who knows when". Some of you people need to stay home so I can go camping too!!! LOL!!
Isnt that crazy? Around here you have to reserve 6 months in advance in order to get a site. So far this year we have had to camp in the snow, wind, rain, and even tornado warnings. This weekend was pretty nice but the heat was crappy. - wbrown62ExplorerMy pet peeve is now that I have time from work to go camping, there is not a campsite I want to go to within 5 hours drive that's not book for the next "who knows when". I hate it when people walk right through the middle of my site because they are to lazy to walk the extra 20 feet to cut though my neighbors site
I hate it when I can see the fish, can dam neer grab them in the water, but it does not matter what kind of lure or bate they just come up and look at thy line and slowly swim away, or very gently nibble the worm right off the hook without actually biting the hook
what I really hate is those ignorant pig like SOB's that leave garbage everywhere or worse yet the skank bags that toss dirty full to the brim diapers either a couple feet into the tall grass by the beach or back of a campsite or bury them in a very shallow grave that some dog (that should not be on the beach in the first place) digs up later that day or next morning
people need to stop being so dam lazy , you carried it there so carry it back with you, in alot of cases there is a garbage can within 100 feet.
I hate when a moron drives in at 11or 12pm and ends up while trying like a useless tit to back his unit in to the absolute perfect position on his site, and has his headlights shining right at my windows for half an hour while going back and forth and screaming back and forth to his wife, over his super loud dual exhaust on that already noisy dodge diesel
All in all I love camping,, and I do alot of it,and have met alot of great people (and a few psychopaths) but there is always some inconsiderate "me me me" jerk that comes along and CAN'T seem to fit into and not disturb or completely ruin peaceful surroundings if their mothers knew they would have turned out like that they may have gave abortion a second thought. - paulsangExplorer

If ciggy smoke makes you as sick as you say (yet somwehow campfire smoke does not), it is your personal responsibility to protect yourself. There are plenty of smoke-free CG out there.
I've never heard of such a place. I'd think in they would be most likely to exist in CA, but I've never seen nor heard of one.
There are several right here in Florida. A few in GA as well. I found them accidentally looking up PPA CG's. Don't know about further out west...haven't traveled that far yet. Tend to be big family CG operations. - Ski_Pro_3ExplorerSeveral posts back gives you a suggestion for this situation; tell the staff member you had too much to drink and can not drive. Possession is 9/10ths of the law they say...

Here is one we recently ran into. Most state CGs & NP will leave a reservation notice on the site post so that self registering walk ups know what is reserved & what is not & pick a site accordingly.
We recently went into an un manned WA SP, picked a site, set up & were off to pay just as we have done so many times before. Just as the DW has disappeared in the direction of the gate a small TT shows up claiming the site is theirs having reserved online. Really! Well, the site did not even have a site post to put a number on, let alone a reservation slip, so who is to know what is what.
In the middle of this a SP staff member did show up. The site was indeed reserved by the small TT so we had to move. An hour wasted by both partys which could have been saved with a slip on a post. - ol_Bombero-JCExplorer

Mine is having an RV pull in the next site and they have 4 yappy little dogs in a pen an every time I go outside they go off and no one comes out to stop them. Very annoying.
You're not walking through their campsite are you?..:B
