Coleman today, like almost any brand name, is not Coleman of yesterday, sadly. On the up side, you can still find older Coleman stoves and they will work for just about forever. We bought ours in 1975 (interestingly enough, the same year as our vintage camper) and is still going strong. Every once in a while you need to replace the leather gasket, but that's only a 5 minute procedure.
I agree with the comment about it being special - nothing modern has the same feel as an old Colman stove...
