I think a 1-1/2" PVC post, with a plywood base that you can weigh down with some sandbags or blocks would work fine. The one that Roy posted (with the light) is really nice, and I could see where a solar or battery powered light would be really nice at night.
could you mount something on the front of the TV? I'll assume that like your signature picture, it's usually out front by the road when you camp anyway, how about a bracket that would attach to the front bumper?
