Campsite/Campground Theft
I read quite often in this forum of people securing anything that weighs less than their RV to deter theft. It is a shame if this needs to be done and I am wondering if theft at campgrounds is as bad...

Everyone is talking in "past tense" and need to remember that times change. 5 years ago, if the police took one theft report from any one of the 10 CGs around us in a season, they were surprised. Today it is at least once a week if not more often. Even folks in our small town are now locking their doors and NOT leaving things in plain view, as the thieves are targeting any and all, but seem to be concentrating on the CGs.
We are 85 miles from a city and it seems the thieves are NOT stealing in their area, but coming up here to fill their orders. The demographics of our areas are changing and IMO that has a big input into the problems.
