30+ yrs. of camping - never lost anything. We leave chairs & cooler out, lock up bikes. We had an interesting situation this summer though. Driving through the state park several young adults flagged us down. They said their friend had broken a toe while hiking. They had flip flops on & friend had a couple drops of blood on toe. Hot day, they all looked cool. They said they could not contact their family, no cell reception. They wanted a ride, but we told them we would stop at their site and let their family know. We went to the site, and it was empty - actually a flooded site. We stopped at the office and told them to contact the ranger. We actually drove back to where they were and they were gone. Could have been they had the wrong site number, we never saw them the entire weekend, but we both had a bad feeling about this. Our friends had ridden by them on bikes and they did not ask them to help.
