Our Winnebago Class C motorhome has aluminum framing with, from what I can see, molded foam in between and around the framing.
IMHO, wood's time has long since come and gone as a construction material for a structure that gets beat mile after mile on highways and offroad rocks. It's minimum heat transfer superiority is, IMHO, an attempt to find something good to advertise about wood frame construction in an RV.
I don't want my pickup truck to have a wooden frame and I wish I could have afforded steel framing for our brick and mortar residence - but then again our residence doesn't travel down a road for hours and hours. ;)
