I always towed with my fridge on. My fridge caught fire couple months ago while parked at home and the entire trailer burned. I had it on propane and that was my first guess but the fire department said it shorted out. The dire department never did turn off the tanks while fighting the fire, and the tanks themselves were untouched. So after experiencing a trailer fire, I am still comfortable towing with the fridge on. I would make sure that I don't hear the pilot light to try and keep sparking. Only thing that I have changed my mind on is going with a newer unit than the one we had.
