Can I tow it without brakes a short distance?
OK. I just bought a 2007Ford F 150 with the 5.4 V8. Runs like a dream but does not have a 7 pin adapter yet. I have one ordered but want to take a short trip close to home, The trailer is an Econ 14BB...

Besides the additional wiring and brake controller, not having a 7 pin connector tell me that the OPs truck does NOT have the HD trailer tow option which also included a HD radiator and an auxiliary transmission cooler.
I pulled a 3000+ lbs camper (fully loaded) all over without an equalizing hitch or trailer brakes. Never an issue.
Truck has had a class four hitch installed and does have a transmission cooler.
