CAN I TOW THIS?

Need so me advise, I have a 2007 F-150 5.4 4wd.
Iam looking to purchase a 2006 Yukon Wilderness 29ft
travel trailer says rated at 8400lbs.
Does anyone see any problem towing this with this
size truck?
  • Remember to take into account everything from how much payload you have for the tongue weight, and if that tongue weight is too much for the hitch. Also, what gears and cab configuration, and if you have the tow package or not. You can also go to www.learntorv.com and get some more pointers.

    Too much trailer.

    X2.
You'd be better off thinking a couple of thousand pounds lighter. My F150 5.4 4WD shows about an 8000# capacity. But that would be far over my remaining payload, which is the "weak point" on a 1/2 ton.

You need to find the equipment and ratings on your TV to get a realistic idea of what you have to work with. One thought, load up your TV with all the gear and people you'd take on a trip. Subtract that from the GVWR of the TV and you'll know how much you have left for the TT hitch. Keep in mind if you get near your max rating towing in the mountains will not be fun.
  • That trailer starts close to where your tv capability ends, imo. You can probably tow it on flat ground, but it won't be safe, or fun.

What does your owners manual say about the max. tow weight?
    Yeah.
