can my fresh water go stale?

When i bought my camper the dealer ship had topped of my fresh water tank. he said they sanitized it and also used the water to check all the systems, pump etc. this is only my second camper and the first one we never even put water in the fresh water tank. 95% of the time we camp with water hook ups. can the water in there get stagnant? i know it is a good idea to leave some in there just in case plans dont go like they are suppose to while you are on the road. thanks for any input

I assume you say this because it would be used for drinking and cooking ??

If not, and it had even a little chlorine in it, it should last MUCH longer than that.......like 3 months or more.

    Yes.
And mold can grow if it is left empty.
Best to leave a little in there and flush it occasionally.
How much and how often depends on the chlorine content.

But I am sure that one or two users will disagree.
And likely at least one will post two pages of "technical" information.......which may or may not be right !! :B
