Can RV.net stop the spammers?

I subscribe to to the Truck Camper sub forum. For the past few months this section has been inundated with spammers posting a simple subject with a body filled with links to sites they are peddling.
With my subscription to the Truck Camper section I receive a notification in my email of all notifications of new posts. Lately about 80% of the posts are spam. I can tell this simply by the subject line and I delete the email right away.
The question I have for the tech support of RV.net is How do the spammers get stopped? I subscribe to other sites and never see this amount of spam.
I would like to give thanks and kudos to the moderators and IT people who battle this issue every day here on the forum. But is there some way to step it up a notch to stop these spammers in their tracks?
Ben
  • If you look at the links, DON'T CLICK, from the spammers you'll see most of them are for sports events.
    They're not selling anything.

My opinion for you not seeing this amount of spamming on other forums is, it's being done by someone with a grudge against RV.NET.
Or maybe they just think it's funny and have nothing else better to do with their time. JMO

Yes, charge for membership and the right to post! Chris

NO, NO, NO. The spam is very light on this site compared to others. Charging would kill the site in a month. Just ignore the spam and report it.
