Canadians - medical coverage while travelling in the US

Woke up the other day and discovered I'm now in my 60s. Not sure where all the time went, but it is what it is... :( We've been using Pacific Blue Cross for medical coverage and we've had to pay ...

This is why we have no plans to go south now that we have to pay our travel insurance. Previously we had a gold plated plan through my work which was invaluable on one trip south. Mine is reasonable but they want the moon to cover DW because of preexisting conditions and we have shopped around.
