We towed our first Hybrid trailer home with our old F-150. She did fine, but we really started checking out newer trucks in the F-250 to 350 range. Considering the prices (plus the hassles of hooking and unhooking up and handling and DH already was having shoulder issues and the fold out sections could be a problem sooner or later) we finally decided to go with a motorhome. We haven't regretted it. My brother-in-law tows their big Nash with at least one slide with a Chevy 2500...don't recall if it's a Silverado. But we agree, don't skimp...better to have a tv with the muscle to pull that mobile palace! And yes, you have to do your own homework.
We're thinking about towing our Focus eventually and DH has been gathering information about the best and safest way to do this. And we're not relying on any just anyone's advice...he talks to people he notices have toads along!
