All four of those fivers made it to the campground with those 1/2 ton trucks pulling them didn't they? I wouldn't be concerned about it at all. None of my business. Sooner or later they will decide if they need a bigger truck or not..

Agreed.
I constantly read "they are jeopardizing the lives of everyone else on the road," but I have yet to read a story about a death caused by an overloaded truck towing a trailer.
And trust me, if it happens, it is posted on this board.
For the record, I drive a half ton and tow a 27-foot TT that weighs in at 7,400 pounds (loaded). Before I bought the trailer, I asked for advice and several people told me they would never tow my combination and would feel unsafe putting their family in that situation.
I am within all of my manufacturer limits and have since towed thousands of miles with this setup, including throughout the Smoky Mountains. I'm not arguing that I will beat anyone to the top of the Rockies, but to say I am irresponsible for towing with a half ton is ridiculous.
It is generally impossible to look at someone's setup and determine whether or not they are unsafe. You don't know their actual weights, limits, etc. All you can do is give an, at best, educated guess.
