I am within all of my manufacturer limits and have since towed thousands of miles with this setup, including throughout the Smoky Mountains. I'm not arguing that I will beat anyone to the top of the Rockies, but to say I am irresponsible for towing with a half ton is ridiculous."
Unlike many people, you have done enough investigation to know and stay within your vehicle's limits. Many folks, not all, but many would instead say "...but it's a 2014 1/2 ton" or "my buddy tows this just fine" or "the only limit that matters is XXX and I'm within that".....Doing the research and complying with the limits puts you in a fairly small group.
...but any customer for something like an RV should do some basic research and not rely entirely on the salesman.
