The key to this query is the term "global." This article from the Washington Post is quite interesting and informative on the subject. Remember the recent Winter Olympics? While we have experienced an unusually cold winter, we are only about 2% of the global community and much of the rest of the world has had an equally unusually warm one.
So what? Global warming implies the entire world climate is changing. The so called experts say both ice caps are melting at the same time so that takes care of the 2% argument.
