Car trailer

We bought a stacker trailer and put 10 ply 19.5 tires on it. Less than 2500 miles in we’ve had 2 blowouts. I’m very frustrated after spending $2500 to not have issues. Falken tires. I’ve slowed down to 65 last two travel days no blowouts, but spend as much time looking in mirror as ahead! Trailer isn’t close to max weight. Less than 12k. Ideas?
  • I have been racing for 60+ years. Towed everything from open trailer to 3 axel stackers and was probably over loaded 1/2 the time. Tire pressure is important, check it often and make sure all tires are the same. BUT, one year I bought a new 28ft enclosed and even with all the precautions I blew 9 tires in one summer. Never could find a reason for the failures. Sold it and got my first 3 axel. I currently have a 32ft enclosed 3 axel that has never had a failure. Tires, on these with 15in wheels I use Goodyear Wranglers from Wal Mart. When one wears down I get 6 new ones. With this current 3 axel and my 20ft Featherlite open I run 40lbs of air. No formula it just seems to work....check it often.
  • Slowed down from what speed? As Jimnlin, need more info. What are the tire specs for load, speed ratings, pressure. What pressures were you running?
  • Not enough info on the trailers gvwr and especially gawrs....oem tire size and load range...triaxle or a tandem dual axles.

Where on the trailer was the blowouts?

on the bottom side.. Sorry couldn't help my self
  • HighTire temperature causes tires to fail, tire under inflation cause the tire to heat. adjust the pressure higher until the tires stop heating.
Your tires should never be hotter than your hand can touch.
