CARB Inspections in CA

Has anyone been subjected to a CARB inspection while travelling in California....... Thinking of removing "catcon" from my Triton.
  • Just to be clear, they don't require you to go to a testing station just because you are in Calf
But they can pull you over if you look like you are laying a smoke-screen and things can go from there.
  • Just what I wanted to know. My sister-in-law lives there and wife want's to go there. I ran produce C2C for 15years, I have no desire to go to Kalifornia....

It's 15 years old and the coach sat for the last three years..... Went into limp mode and they cannot find out why, threw no codes. Mechanic that I trust said it's probably going to end up converter problem.

Stink? I hauled municipal waste for a few years, that stunk.
  • Why do you want to remove it? It will not help with performance, and it will stink badly!

But he answer is, if you don't live there it's not an issue!
  • I live in CA and never had one. Only applies to certain counties.
  • I guess his question is that he does not live in Cal. but wants to run his non CARB genny in Cal. Will that bring potential inspections and fines?
