I suspect you mean polyethylene as opposed to plastic laminate or fiberglass composite hulls. Thanks for the info. I am still trying to decide which is the right material for me. Polyethylene is inexpensive, which I like, but I would hate to have to keep answering the question, "what is that on the roof of your Jeep?" after the sun warped the canoe into an unrecognizable shape.:W
