Sure have!!! On my truck cap I had a square aluminum bar rack that was simply screwed into some plywood inserts molded into the cap itself. The rack itself didn't take much of the wind load - if I was travelling any distance I'd tie the nose and stern of my boats to the bumpers fore and aft. Purpose of the rack is to keep them from sliding around - the real work is done by the painter lines. No different really than how I carry either canoes or 'yaks on the Thule rack on my Suby. ST
