so according to nYT data (which I always question) you believe that 88.3 % of car buyers are foolish for having given somebody their SSN. originally you automatically considered anybody financing their vehicle to be foolish.

NO BUMPY! As I said, but apparently you ignored, there are times when dealer incentives for financing make cents. Often there is 0% interest or cash back when only financed with the manufacturer's finance arm. Ignoring those incentives would be leaving money on the table. But just walking into the dealer, negotiating a price, and then let the dealer provide financing is foolish. If you want I can explain it to you further. Just PM me.
