cataract surgery

well, I had my cataract surgery this morning, all went well. I was some what nervous about having them give me the shot in the eye socket, and was asking about it . he said some people say it is better than going to the dentist. I told him to let me know when he was going to put the needle in, he told me he was already done with it. tonight my vision is still blurry and they say it might be for a few days. I worry more about rubbing it while asleep tonight. I go back in tomorrow morning for my check up and back in on the 16th for the other eye. sure will be glad when this is all over and I can get back to flying RC planes.
  • Glad to hear that it went well. Years ago I had Lasik. I don't remember how they numbed my eyes, but I recall vividly going from vision to nothing as the cornea was cut open and laid back. I saw blurry too that night, but after that it improved daily. I was given glasses to wear at night in case I tried to rub my eyes. Maybe you should try to sleep a little upright with your sunglasses on. Best of luck to you for a speedy recovery.
  • Had cataract surgery on my left eye 7 yrs ago. A little blurry for a day to two. Didn't need it on the right, still don't.
But the difference in color vision between the left eye and right is very obvious. Left eye colors are much sharper and brighter after the surgery than the right. Right vision is fine, just the colors are not as good as the left now.
  • Had it done in April at the age of 56 due to glare. My vision was poor my whole life. -12 of nearsightedness. Now I'm 20-20 and 20-15. Night vision is better. Make sure you use all the drops it's pretty straight forward now.
  • Oh wonderful news. I hope you wear the glasses tonight just in case. Hang in there you'll be flying your planes in no time, and you will now be able to see them lol!!!
  • Best surgery ever. I had both eyes done last year. All the drops, wearing a patch at night so you don't rub your eye, and even the weeks between surgeries (couldnt decide which eye to see out of) were all worth it. I now wear reading glasses because i had a stigmatism to becorrected but my visiin has never been better.
  • I will be having my cataract and glaucoma surgery starting on Monday and hope mine goes as well as yours.
  • My brother just had both eyes done. He had just the start of cataracts but had it done as a elective surgery. Cost him 6 grand a eye but there are some new lense out there, that gave him 20/20 in both eyes. The only time he needs glasses now is for mid range like reading a computer. Close in and Distance are near perfect now. He also said he noticed things like white is really white not kind of yellow and the glass panes in the windows are actually completely clear. His eyes needed a lot of correction before the surgery. He is stoked as I am sure you will be OLD GUY! Now if someone would give me 12k I would have the same thing done!
  • I had both eyes done a month apart 3 years ago. Been nearsited all my life. now I'm farsighted , but I can see, I love it.
  • Had mine done last September. I didn't realize that some doctors still used the localized shot. My first eye took 6 minutes. Worst part was the eye drops.
