1. Bought Edge at Dealer.
2. Sun Valley installs towing equipment which fails.
3. Took back to Sun Valley but because you couldn't wait, took it to Trotters
4. Failed again, this time because of transmission.
Ford will say it's Sun Valley's fault; Sun Valley will blame Trotters because you took it to them so they have no documentation as to what was wrong, if anything; Trotters will say it's Ford's fault because they did it correctly; So back to Ford. Repeat process again. I'd say it's a pretty perfect circle....Good Luck. I feel your frustration and pain in the wallet.
Part of the "deal", written into the CONTRACT with the dealer I purchased the Equinox from, was that they would install the towing equipment and I would be allowed to inspect it, including torquing the bolts, prior to the car being put back together. This eliminates any and all confusion later on should something go amiss. This post also highlights the importance of having a tire pressure monitoring system that also includes tire temps.....Dennis
