CB or Ham Radio good to get in contact to other RVers?

Hi there! We just spent 5 days on the road with our RV travelling from Alberta, Canada to Earp, CA. Had the CB on the whole time and not ONE PEEP other than pre-programmed advertising spewing over the channel once in a while. Still, I do like to have it with me on the road.
