Ours has a weather radio in it that we use often. We use it when travelling in groups. Better than the cheapy UHF FRS radios (assuming it is set up properly). We are both licensed hams but often travel with non licensed people so the CB continues to be useful for us. If we are by ourselves we sometimes monitor 19 and use it to find out why there are traffic slow downs on interstates. There is always a trucker close to the hold up or accident that can put you in the know and make decisions accordingly. Although we rarely initiate conversations it is a useful tool for us. Other than talking to others in our group we rarely talk to other RVers as there doesn't seem to be a lot out there. Interesting point, if you ever decide to travel with a guided RV tour somewhere (Mexico for example) they almost always use CB radio for intergroup communications. Do a proper install with good equipment and it will serve you well.
