Do you think is worth to have a CB or ham radio installed for this trip? (I would get a technician class license, if ham makes sense)

Unless you are a citizen of the US or are in the US on an immigration visa, you are not eligible to obtain a US Ham Radio License.
If you decide to operate without a license, you will be caught (we are very protective of our spectrum space) and you will be fined $10,000 and imprisoned for one year for each day of your illegal operation.
Howdy. I'm not sure how to interpret the above. We are both licensed hams with advanced tickets. We routinely broadcast in the US. (we are Canadian) Does the above somehow imply that we are breaking the law? We are here about 6 months of the year on a B2 (snowbird) visa. |
